Democracy Day to be marked in ‘grand manner’
The publicity sub-committee under the 71st National Democracy Day Main Organizing committee held its meeting today. The subcommittee chaired by Hari Prasad Basyal, Secretary at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology decided to mark the day in a grand manner including by broadcasting the democracy day messages in display boards in major cities.
The Nepal Telecom Authority, Nepal Telecom, National Information Centre will manage the publicity tasks in coordination with Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
The National News Agency, Nepal Television and Radio Nepal will bring out special publications and broadcasting related to democracy day.
Similarly, Gorkhapatra and The Rising Nepal and other National Newspapers will cover various issues related to democracy day. The Telecom will announce different discount packages to its customers.
The meeting has also decided upload the slogans of the democracy day in websites of the concerned agencies and authority. Similarly, Nepal Television and Radio Nepal will make live broadcast of the main event on the day while National News Agency and Gorkhapatra and Rising Nepal will publish special write ups on the day.
The meeting was attended by National News Agency General Manager Opendra Sharma, Gorkhapatra Corporation chair Krishna Murari Bhandari Nepal Television chair Mahendra Bista, Radio Nepal executive director Buddhi Bahadur KC among others.
Democracy Day is being observed across the country by organizing various programs every year. The government organizes a special ceremony at the Nepal Army Pavillion Tudikhel in the capital every year on Falgun 7 in the Lunar Calendar.
