LOVE IS NOT JUST ‘MAKING’ IT
Dahlia Tera
To make….
To put together, to create,
To produce, to construct…
Wanting to limit to a few synonyms;
All are meaning : to perform an action ,
A concrete activity for a result.
To make a cake means:
Choose various ingredients,
Mix them,
Put the dough in a mould,
Cook it.
Then the cake is done.
And, in this way, I can make many things:
I can make a painting,
I can make a plan,
I can make a cup of tea,
I can make a choice….
Something material.
So….. what about ‘making love’?
Is it possible to ‘make’ love?
As an almost mechanical act
Which also ends up being repetitive.
I never loved much this expression,
Because it erases emotions and feelings,
It seems to be limited
To the result of penetration
In sighs and cries of pleasure.
Then it gets confused
‘Making’ sex and ‘making’ love.
It becomes a duty rather than a pleasure.
‘Making’ love has to be
A ‘before’ and an ‘after’.
Before: searching privacy, intimacy;
Legs crossing, hips interlocking,
Bodies getting stuck,
Hands glide, caress, knead,
They look for the chest
Fingers in wet sex, smells;
The gestures and movements are strong
The hurts at times, in breathlessness,
Or softer in eyes and neck.
And it is already ‘making love’,
Good for the body, for the mind, for the heart.
The sensation of pleasure invading
Leads to the real union.
Then ‘making’ love is also after.
After:enjoyting relax, body resting,
Feeling empty.
Because ‘making’ love is not just ‘making’ sex.
Love is or should be:
Feeling,
Talking,
Understanding,
Respecting,
Hoping,
Dreaming,
Imagining,
Thinking,
Dancing,
Singing,
Writing……..
It is friendship, freedom, mutual help…
Love is indefinable,
Love is kaleidoscopic.
Live your love, multiform loves.
