ONE HUMPS or TWO HUMPS
Gianni Rodani (1920-1980)
Popular Italian writer and educator
Once a dromedary,
Meeting a camel,
He said to him: “I pity you,
Dearest brother;
You would be a dromedary,
Wonderful you too,
If only you didn’t have
That extra nasty hump!
The camel answered him:
You stole my word.
It’s bad luck for you
Having only one hump.
You are close to being
A perfect camel.
Nature with you
Was wrong by default.
The bizarre lawsuit
Lasted a whole morning.
Then, singing and listening
Stood an old Bedouin
And to himself, meanwhile, he thought:
“Poor things both of you:
Everyone finds beautiful
Only its own hump.
So, often reason
Many people in the world
Who finds wrong
What is just different:”
GREAT LESSON: DON’T CONFUSE “DIFFERENT” WITH “WRONG” !
