I waited for that day
With enthusiasm and confidence,
Surrounded by horrifying images,
Of suffering and death.
I knew that I had been lucky
To already receive the first dose.
I felt stronger, protected.
And today: second dose.
I complete the circle: I feel light and happy.
At 4 in the morning,
Still in the darkness, on my motorbike,
As if I was looking away to the horizon,
Direction: ‘Pushpalal Memorial Center’.
People are already in line, hundreds of people.
But without crowding;
The row is neat under the trees.
A little like going worshipping to the Temple…
Who are here know they are lucky,
Privileged… so touched and emotional,
Also I feel like a child
Whom was promised a new bicycle,
I feel like a little boy
About to send his colored kite into the sky.
Done….the nurse Fulmaya gave the injection,
Then backing home, the second dose vaccinated,
I smile at my little son
And put a kiss on his forehead…
And I know he will have his battles to fight,
And I will teach him
That hope must never die!
THERE IS ALWAYS THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL.
