THANK YOU FOR TRAVELING ON MY TRAIN!
The idea of life/train came to me this morning when I was still in bed. Yesterday night I watched in TV at a nice movie in which a dialogue between two people was precisely on the train of life. This morning I was silently thinking about this film and so came after this little poem. Perhaps I don’t have much experience of train trips to be able to use this comparison spontaneously but it is poetical fiction so no problem.
ALL ON THE SAME TRAIN

The train like life
Life like a train
More than an usual metaphor
More than a simple rhetorical figure.
Trains that we jump at
Trains that we will regret forever.
Life is made up of trains
The trains of our lives
Also full of everyone’s life.
Trains stopping next to us
But we don’t know
Whether to go up or not;
Trains that reserve surprises for us
The good and the bad;
Trains whizzing by fast, like in the movies
And that we don’t have the courage to stop;
Trains that close their doors
In our faces
And go away without us
Leaving inside the bitter taste
Of what it would have been
Like to go up there;
Trains that we board despite ourselves
Even clinging or on the roof
For fear of being left stranded;
Everyone is on a train,
Like in life:
Those who ride with or without luggage
Those who descend before the destination
Those who make a short trip
And those who make a long one
Around the world maybe
Those who sleep
Those who watch
The changing landscapes slip by
Those who listen silently
And seem absent
Those who speak and tell
Those who read, those who write
Those who travel
With joys, with sorrows, with expectations
With “hellos” and with “goodbyes”.
We are all passengers, all similar
Beyond our cultural, social,
Economic, religious and many differences.
Everyone has their own train
But, at the end, it is the same train for everyone.

It makes me really happy
Knowing that we are together;
And together means we are stronger
Because
UNITY MAKES STRENGTH.
