Is there a sweeter word and attitude?
Is not kindness the way
We would like human relations to be based?
Individually and collectively too……

Kindness makes no noise,
It speaks softly, it smiles in a glance;
It is elegant and simple.
It is like honey on a slice of bread,
It is like balm on a wound
Or the blanket when it’s cold.
It is the first ray of sunshine on the face
Early in the morning.
It is perhaps the most precious feeling
It does not have the impetuosity of love
But it has the infinite warmness of tenderness
Kindness is generous and selfless.

Sometimes, it’s just a hello to the shopkeeper
Who sells you milk in the morning,
Sometimes, it is a coin and a shy smile
To those who ask for alms in the street,
Sometimes, it is a moment
Given to an elderly or a child,
Even if you are in a hurry,
Sometimes, it’s just an unexpected “good morning”,
A heartfelt namaste,
Sometimes a caress even to a dog,
A flower collected and offered.

Sometimes, kindness its an understanding silence
Or a simple help for tying shoes or hair…
Because kindness is spontaneous.
It comes from within, without warning,
And sometimes it leaves you surprised
Sometimes, it is just answering a very basic question
It is a subtle caress… to dry a little tear
On the cheek of who you know needs it.

It is intuition and sensitivity , it is empathy.
Not everyone knows to use it….
Not everyone knows how to give it …
Some think this selfless feeling is mushy
It is a mistake: even if,
Sometimes, you will feel scorned.

Don’t give up!
Always be kind!
