COME BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES, LIVE IN MY HEART!

On some quieter or sadder days and nights,
With my eyes occasionally half-closed,
Memories surface;
In favor of a little spark:
A gesture, a smell, a color, a sound…..
Nostalgia?
Sometimes it is tenderness and smiles,
A kind of enthusiasm in the desire to live again
Sensations I felt, moments I experienced.
Sometimes it is pain and tears,
A kind of torment in the desire to forget.
And it is not due to the memory itself
But also how I feel when it arises.

There are good and bad memories
Printed in my mind and in my heart.
But time is kind with me:
More often than not…
It fades the bad memories
It makes the beautiful bright.

As the sap in the stem of the flower,
They become the blood of life
Running through my veins.

Then I ask myself:
Maybe life is just an accumulation of memories…?
But only some, deeper, special, rare,
Always come out…. like a sting, an inner energy.
They talk to me, they push me, they smile at me,
As cheerful positive encouragement and strength.

I love them, I hold them very preciously.
I often call them as a future promise,
As a fortifying hope.
They are living life dancing in my heart, in my soul:
Twinkles, whiles, moments….
Of births and deaths,
Atmospheres, situations, landscapes
Words, flowers, scents,
Colors, caresses, looks,
Clothes, gestures, furnishings,
Silences, sounds, paths…
Physical and sentimental waves,
Concrete and spiritual flights,
So intimate, so personal and close,
So secret…
Everyone saves the same moment
Differently, in his own way.

Come my beautiful memories!
Flood my body, fill my eyes,
Swell my heart in deep-seated way!
Do not leave room for ugliness !
Shine with life, cover me with smiles
While I wait to relive you and new ones
Because today is already tomorrow….
Even more intensely in joyful happiness..

Not only on some quieter or more eager
Days and nights,
But when dreams will come true ….
You will be always inside me ready to surface,
Because MEMORIES ARE LIFE.
