
SLPA celebrated it’s 67th Anniversary Convention
Sri Lanka Press Association (SLPA), the oldest and pioneering media organization in Sri Lanka celebrated it’s 67th Anniversary Convention on February 08th at the Sri Lanka Foundation Auditorium under the aegis of Minister of Mass Media Hon. Dullas Alahapperuma and Guest of Honor Secretary (former) Sri Lanka National Commission of UNESCO Dr. Punchinilame Meegaswatte with many other dignitaries in the media fraternity.
In keeping with the tradition, the SLPA felicitated five veteran media personalities who have rendered a yeoman service to the field by presenting them with the D. F. Kariyakarawana Memorial Award at its national convention.
Veterans Sunil Daya Alwis, Arthur U. Amarasena, Chandrika Wijesundera, Sarath Cooray and A. C. de Silva were honored on February 08th, 2022, which also marked the Centenary Birth Anniversary of the late veteran media personality of Sri Lanka, D. F. Kariyakarawana.
Top SLPA office bearers including its Chief Patron Muditha Kariyakarawana, President Dharman Wickramaratne, Secretary General Kurulu Koojana Kariyakarawana, Senior Vice President Sisira Wijesinghe, Treasurer Chaminda Karunarathne, Deputy Secretary General Maj. Tilak Senanayake, Foreign Secretary Kelum Bandara and many others took part at the event.
