Nepal is set to host an international conference in June 2022 to develop guidelines for sustainable waste management in the Himalaya and high-altitude region.

Top scientists, engineers, environmentalists, doctors, and others who have worked in the Himalayan region will be visiting Nepal to participate in the program. CEO of NTB Dr. Dhananjay Regmi and Director of The Never Rest Project (Spain) Dr. Frederic Cauffaman, met earlier this week and signed an agreement regarding the same.

The conference will study statistics on mountain cleaning done by the Nepal Army and will also draw from modalities of sustainable waste management best practices from other mountainous and high mountain areas in the world.

CEO Dr. Regmi expressed optimism at initiating the project which he hopes will secure better environment and pristine mountains for the future generations which is crucial for the well being of the planet.
