A TINY RED HEART WITH BLACK POLKA DOTS !
By Dahlia Tera
In the garden,
Lying on the deckchair,
On a warm late summer afternoon,
When a slight breeze has picked up,
Stroking the face, refreshing the body,
I was reading….
It landed on my arm, near my wrist;
I did not see it nor hear it arrive.
Like a tiny red heart
With its back polka dots.
I know they where seven,
I watched it trying to count them,
Like when I was a child…
It began its discovering walk..
What this expanse of skin
Could represent to it? How did it feel it?
An endless desert….?
It hesitates, looking left and right,
With its small head up,
Moving its threadlike legs.
I felt joy… it brings good luck , it’s said.
Its cheerful and funny mantle,
Its shape,
It was really too nice!
I also knew that a desire must be expressed
Before it flies way….
In this way, then, it comes true..
I did it right away!
The most beautiful…..
And it did not take long to open its wings
And get lost in the air;
I quickly didn’t see it more..
But the expressed desire
Remained and remains inside me.
I went back to the words of my book
Imagining it,
Small and nice,
Messenger of joy, cleanliness, fairness… love,
HAPPINESS!
Thank you, little ladybug,
CHOOSING my arm.
