Men aren’t supposed to cry

Many people often don’t realize the exact meaning of feminism. Feminism doesn’t mean women against men or gender against gender. Feminism isn’t about women trying to take what men have but it’s about getting the same opportunities as they do. Feminism simply is a movement for equal rights and opportunities for all genders.

A person once said he helps his mom with her household works so he thinks that, the way he helps his mom makes him a feminist, but the way he said the term “her household works” is wrong because women aren’t the only ones that belong to the kitchen or the ones that should be doing the household works, men should too.

The patriarchy has been going on since the beginning. A baby boy is given a ball, or a plane toy to play with but a baby girl is given cooking/kitchen toys to play with. So the thing that implies here is that girls are expected to be doing the chores in the kitchen while boys are expected to be a pilot, or a player since their childhood. Sons were sent to good schools for education but daughters weren’t, even if some were, they often made them study in cheap schools that didn’t have a very good educational facilities. Men are always prioritized more than women. When a woman gets married, she has to leave her house but the man doesn’t. After their children is born the baby gets the last name of their dad but not their mums’ even tho their mother is the one that carried the baby for 9 months in her tummy and she was the one that had to face all the pain during her pregnancy.

For instance, whenever I finish my meal, I’m a girl so I’m expected to do the dishes but a guy (boy) isn’t, even in my house me and my mom are expected to do the household works while my dad is in the other room sleeping on his bed while focusing on his phone. When my mom needs help, she calls me but not my dad so the patriarchy can basically be seen in our houses.

The society also forces a man to be strong , more masculine and hard working. They are the ones expected to earn money. Men also face a lot of pain as they are always expected to be someone. I’m sure quote”केटा मान्छे भएर रूनु हॅुंदैन” (men aren’t supposed to cry) has often been heard by people. But saying that to a male is very wrong because they are human beings as well and human beings have different emotions that should be let out.
This is happening because of the toxic masculinity mindset that has been growing on people since the beginning.

The third genders have always been discriminated in our society. Most people like to bully the queers, discriminate them and make them feel bad about themselves. But things have been changing recently, many movements have been made and people are slowly starting to realize that they deserve happiness the queer people are starting to get the love and recognization they deserve but it’s not enough. People use the term “छक्का” (gay) as an insult to someone but that term is not an insult at all. It’s very difficult for the queer people to come out as they are so they should all be loved and respected.

The movement of Feminism doesn’t just help a certain gender but instead helps all genders as equality and equal opportunities means that there will be more resources that could help the society as well as the whole nation in general.
