Laws of Detachment

Gaurav Ojha

When the truth you know
Gets surprised by the reality
Let the uncertainty
Decide ‘what is’
Don’t get trapped by
The confusing confidence in your logic
Even if “B” unfollows your “A,”
And falls out of “C ”
Have patience
Till the “Z” turns around and decides to follow THE “A”
Embrace: it ends at the beginning.

Don’t let the past frame your possibilities
Don’t force hope into impossibility
Don’t put intensity into things
That has already become fragile
As the story ends and the curtains fall,
The audience leaves the auditorium
Allow others to be who they are
Listen to their reflections as the tree puts its shades on the pond
Drift through the rain and look upon the dark clouds
Hold up your umbrella and put your feet on the ground
Don’t you feel we have already been weakened?
By our attachments to what we desire, intend, prefer, and want?

Detachment is like a river
That follows in-between the bridge
Detachment (uncarved face of a stone).
